5.13.18 Bird Nerd Moment - Mother's Day - Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
Wellfleet, MA

What do mom's want for Mother's Day?  Clearly it depends on the mom, but I believe many of us are thrilled with the opportunity to get to do what we love to do, with the people we love the most.  My family knows how to take care of me as they agreed to go for a birdwatching hike on spectacular trails that were loaded with birds!  Birds know where they are welcome!  I didn't keep a running list, because I was very happily working on capturing each species we encountered in a photo, so I will let the photos provide the list.

So many images to capture! ... including the surprise stars of the show, a marsh FULL of Fiddler Crabs!  They were INCREDIBLE to watch and to listen to!  Of course, to hear the sounds they made as they traveled across the sand, sneaking in and out of their sandy spaces, challenging each other... you had to be quiet.  Quiet is one of the best Mother's Day gifts worth giving.  Thank you family for the quiet love...
