meet the cape cod bird nerd
gretchen moran towers
animal lover
Born in Boston, raised in Framingham Massachusetts, and a washashore as of 2001, I have been drawn to animals and the natural world my entire life. Through broadcasting, I met my bird nerd mentor, Peter Trull, and I continue to seek guidance and share nature stories with him on occasion.
Outdoors is THE PLACE TO BE, and birds are the perfect connector to natural spaces. A goal of Cape Cod Bird Nerd is to inspire people of all ages to care for the planet through ornithology and nature appreciation.
Birds are EVERYWHERE! Let’s get out there and look and listen and learn!
I have been fortunate to work with and learn from a list of species thanks to the BS in Animal Science I earned at UMASS Amherst. (Thanks Mum & Dad!) Careers past & present: Veterinary technician, pet sitter, broadcaster with animal focused features, animal care coordinator, field guide, nature educator, pre-school teacher, Cape Cod Bird Nerd
